Microfluidics 8th Consortium
On June 22th and 23th 2017, some of our partners attended the 8th Microfluidics Consortium hosted by MIT (Cambridge MA) in the USA.
« This Consortium brings together stakeholders in Microfluidics from across Europe and the USA to learn about state-of-the-art, recent applications, market dynamics as well as to collaborate to address key issues which are constraining growth and scale-up.» One of its activities is to promote standards, platform solutions and interoperability. This collaborative approach will ultimately drive down costs to end users and drive up volumes. The 8th Microfluidics Consortium is working on a range of standards which will facilitate uptake of microfluidic technology.
It is focussing on:
1) Higher temperature/pressure interconnects for research, analytical and process
instruments based on reusable chips.
2) Chips holders including microfluidic and electrical and/or optical interconnects for
analytical and process instruments based on reusable chips.
3) Interconnects for disposable chips for health care and diagnostics."
